A kind of seaweed. Most popular seaweed eaten in Japan. Flat thin shape, Dark green color. Dried version is available in New Zealand. It turns into bright green when soaked in water. Wakame has slipperly texture on surface. In Japan it goes with noodles, green salad, steamed rice, or make paste,marinate with vegetables or seafood etc. Fresh ones are sometimes eaten by itself.
